VBS Planning Meeting (April 20th 2008)

The meeting will follow immediately after morning services at the front of the auditorium. It shouldn't be more than 20 minutes. This meeting is to inform everyone what this year's topic is, pass around a sign up sheet for volunteers and answer questions. This Summer's Vacation Bible School is scheduled for August 16th.

Women's Retreat Registration Ends this Sunday (April 20th 2008)

“We Are the Clay, You Are the Potter” is the theme that guest speaker Angie Weber will present at the annual Women’s Retreat scheduled for April 25 and 26 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at Dulles.

Registration will begin April 6 and conclude at the evening service April 20.

The retreat will begin at 7:30 pm on Friday and will conclude at 2:15 pm on Saturday. The cost includes refreshments Friday evening as well as breakfast and lunch Saturday, but does not include dinner Friday. The fees for the full retreat are as follows:
4 people to a room $ 55.00 per person
3 people to a room $ 70.00 per person
2 people to a room $ 90.00 per person
1 person to a room $130.00 per person

Those who are unable to attend the entire program, or who do not choose to remain overnight, may register for Saturday only at a cost of $40.00 or for Friday evening only at a cost of $10.

Youth Ministry Parent Meeting

This Sunday April 13th there will be a Youth Ministry parent meeting for the parents of teens and students in the Upper Room Teen Ministry (7th - 12th grade) and the Kids for Christ (3rd - 6th grade) in room 322 also know as the Upper Room. This meeting will take place immediately following morning worship service and last less than 30 minutes.

Ohio Valley Univeristy: Huffard Bible Forums

Our own Mike Tune will be the presenter for this March's Huffard Bible Forum presented by Ohio Valley University and hosted by the Beltway Church of Christ. Mike's will be speaking about "Why Christianity is Important" during his 3 lectures with a Q & A at the end. The forum will take place March 15th starting at 9:00 and lasting till about 3:00pm.

Snow Emergency Policy

FYI: Here is the "official" Church of Christ in Falls Church policy
for canceling services during the winter.

On Sunday, if weather conditions seem questionable, check this part of
the website or call the church at 703-820-1346 and select #5 - News to
learn of cancellations.

During the week, daytime program closings are linked to the Fairfax
County Public Schools. If schools are closed or have a two-hour
delayed opening on Tuesday, Ladies Bible Class will not meet. Also,
there will be no mid-week service if schools are closed on Wednesday
due to snow. Not only heavy snow, but also icy conditions can cause a
cancellation. If the weather outside is frightful, call before coming.

February's Fellowship Meal

Following our evening worship service, which starts at 6:00 pm, we will be having a Fellowship Meal. This is a finger food potluck dinner with a Valentine's Day theme.

Please come and join us for some great food and fellowship.

Bring some good food if you can but all are invited.
