Our worship assemblies have seven parts: Announcements – We are a family and every week, we attempt to “catch up” on what is going on with the family. These are gentle reminders of up-coming events and late breaking news since our bulletin went to press. If you are visiting with us, we ask that you fill out one of the yellow registration cards located in the back of the pew in front of you and pass it to the center aisle. It will be collected during the first hymn. Singing – The largest section of the Bible is filled with poetry and hymns. This is a time when we, as the family of God, express our hearts in a way so often demonstrated in the Bible as glorifying to God and encouraging to one another. Prayer – Everyone can pray, and pray any time. But at least twice in our assembly we will go to God as a family unit, our collective prayer led by one of our members. |

Lord's Supper – Sometimes called “communion,” this is a weekly reminder of what Jesus did for us. It is a reminder that we have entered a relationship with God through the blood of Christ. It is a reminder that when God saved us, he made us a part of something larger than ourselves – the body of Christ, the Church. Communion is open to all Christians. The bread of communion is served to the congregation by our ushers, as is the wine. We are not served by the Minister, nor do we make our way to the front to be served. Collection – Since the early days of the Church, there has been a time when Christians would bring gifts to God in appreciation for His blessings. These are used to carry on the work God has given the Church to do. The collection is a “free-will” offering. Those who give should do so cheerfully and thankfully, in accordance with the blessings God has given them. Scripture Reading and Preaching – The public reading and explanation of scripture reminds us that the Word of God is central to our lives and the will of God is only found in it. At the end of the sermon, we stand for a song. This is a formal opportunity for those who feel like they need prayer, or baptism, to come before the congregation and make that known. They will be met by our minister, or one of our Bishops and prayer will be offered. If there is a request for baptism, it will be performed immediately in our baptistery pool just under the front windows. |

Introduction of our Visitors – We are glad you are here and thankful you have chosen to worship God with us. The small yellow cards visitors are asked to fill out at the beginning of our assembly are processed near the end and, if you will allow us (there is a box to “opt out” on the card), we will ask you to stand so that we can see where you are and meet you after assembly. The parts of our Sunday morning worship assembly planned by us follow a usual but not strict pattern (you may notice a variation): Announcements – beginning at 10:30 am. 2 hymns Prayer Hymn Lord's Supper & Collection Hymn Scripture Reading Sermon (begins at 11:10 am) Hymn (11:30 am) Final announcements Prayer. Our assembly ends usually by 11:40 am. This is the part planned by us. Sometimes, God has other plans. If someone comes for prayer or for baptism after the sermon, we stay for assembly until all God has called us to do is taken care of. You may hear a sample of our sermons on this website. We look forward to your visit. |
